I've Thrown in the Towel

I quit Gap.

Now, before I continue I would like to say the following.  Mothers I advise all of you who's children follow my blog religiously specifically to live vicariously through me because of my incredible retail job experience, remove them from the room immediately.  I'll give you a second.

Ok.  Here's why.  There's retail, and there is RETAIL.  Gap falls in the RETAIL category, while Deseret Book falls in the retail category.  There are very distinct differences between the two groups.  Gap is just, ugh, terrible.  Constantly, you are folding shirts and placing them in these perfect little piles.  I told my ex-manager today that I see a pile of shirts that aren't straight, and I don't wanna straighten them. I just want to leave them a mess and leave them for the next guy to clean them up.  I don't think that's the type of employee Gap is looking for.  And I was so miserable every day. I didn't want to go to work at all.  It just was not a good situation. So, I did what was right for me, and I quit.

Oh Laura. That's ok. I think you should just stick to those "cute missionaries" and keep going at DB. But an honorable attempt, nonetheless.
