Lo Siento Papa

I feel terrible for having to report this; last night, my dad embarked on his journey to Durango.  At the last minute, he decided to fly out of DIA.  I was a little worried at first; I thought he would not be able to take some of his items even in his checked bag.  After what happened, that was the least of his concerns.  Dad took two bags, and the checked bag he took had his cell phone, laptop, maps, trail information, etc.  Basically everything he needed to complete the trail.  And, it was maps and information he has spent months researching and tracking through countless number of books and websites.  The second bag he had was a little less vital, things that would be replaceable.  While I was scrapbooking at about 12:30, the phone rings.  I thought it was a prank call, and then I picked up the phone and heard my mom was already talking to my Dad.  My Dad was at the hotel, and the airline had lost the bag with all of his vital information.  It was scanned in Denver, and not in Durango, so we are hoping it is still in Denver somewhere.  The next flight that comes in from Denver is on Friday morning at about 9:30.  The bag will hopefully make it on that flight.  If not, he is going to have to come home and start all over again with his maps.  We do have copies of the maps, but he may need some of the originals.  We wish him the best, and I will keep everyone updated.
