Besides packaging dad's food and watching Nanny reruns, I have been knitting like a wild banshee! I've made several scarfs over the past month. In every book I get the patterns from, I laugh at the pictures because of the funny "model" poses the "models" put up. So, I've respectfully tried to recreate those images. For all you knitters out there, I've also included a brief pattern description.
This is the perfect beginners scarf! If you have only been knitting for a few hours, this is such a great project. It looks so pretty for a beginners scarf. Purchase 3 yarns of the same brand, weight, gauge, needle size, etc. I chose Vanna's choice yarn by Vanna White in Dusty rose, antique rose and taupe. Then using 15 mm needles (I think US size 13) combine and hold the 3 yarns together as if they are one yarn. Knit every single row, also known as garter stitch. I did it in a little under 2 hours. I'm sure a beginner could do it in no more then 3 hours, depending on how fast you pick it up. I casted on 16 stitches, and again, it is very wide and thick, so you may want to cast on less. Have fun!

I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn, and size ten straight needles. Moss stitch (K1P1) for half of the scarf, and then diamond drop stitch for the other half. Weave in ends.

This green scarf is super super easy for beginners once you have mastered the knit and purl stitch. I used Lion Brand Jiffy yarn, and size 10 needles. Then, it is (K1P1) from there for however long you want the scarf to be. And of course if you wish, you can add fringe. I think I casted on about 19 stitches. I love this one because it will be super thick and warm around my neck.
This is probably my favorite. Buy the Lion Brand Yarn Ruffles yarn in any color. Then go to the Lion Brand Yarn website for detailed picture instructions on how to use the yarn. Practice a few rows before beginning project. It is one of those "ah-ha" things before you really get it. You'll see what I mean. Then cast on how many stitches you want, I think I did about 20-25. In a corresponding or contrasting color, alternate between that and the ruffles yarn. Example, I knit 10 rows of ruffles, and the 5 rows in basic black, etc. Be sure the two yarns have the same needle size; while the ruffles yarn is fairly flexible about needle sizes that can be used, there is a maximum size.

I think I know what I am getting for Christmas. My ward has a knitting club. They knit hats for cancer patients. You are going to have to start giving away some of your products or you will have no place to put them. By the way I love the poses.
that ruffle one is SOOOOOOOOOO cute! I LOVE it!
