Thanks for the Memories Grandma

This weekend we spent our time relaxing and knitting away (some of us) at the cabin.  With all the down time, there was plenty of story telling and reminiscing.  Grandma always reminds everyone of the funniest memories, and I love the stories she tells.  Here are a couple ones Lisa and I specifically remember.

Grandpa had planned a special vacation for the two of them; Grandma thought they were going to the cabin, but really they were going to San Francisco.  So, Grandma packed some old clothes and did not bring toiletries and some other cabin essentials because she knew she had all of those things at the cabin.  There were some friends that were going to join them at the cabin, and they smoked, so the last thing she grabbed as she walked out the door was an ash tray.  Armed with an ash tray and casual clothes, Grandma hopped on a plane and later found out the true destination of their journey.

When Grandma visited her Grandma in Nephi, the house was so small that her and her mother would stay with one Grandma and her brother and her dad would have to stay with the other Grandma.

Grandma learned to knit at an early age in fourth grade during the war.  She remembers specifically not to wrap the yarn around the needle to tight, so you don't stretch out the yarn.

Grandma wonders if she really would have been left handed, because she was constantly being told to use her right hand, when it felt natural to use her left.  There are some things to this day she still uses her left hand for.
